01.Is mango powder the same as amchur?

Amchoor or aamchur or amchur, also referred to as mango powder, is a fruity spice powder made from dried unripe green mangoes. A citrusy seasoning, it is mostly produced in India. In addition to its use as a seasoning it adds the nutritional benefits of mangoes when the fresh fruit is out of season.

02.How do you use mango fruit powder?

We love using it for sorbets, smoothies and ice cream, it is great in cakes and muffins, and it is so handy to have around when making curries and other Asian dishes. While it is not as tart as the Indian amchur powder (which is made from dried mango), it is sweeter and deeper so can be used instead of or alongside it.

03.How do you eat mango powder?

Amchur powder has been used largely in making a wide range of delicacies. It renders flavour to soups, chutneys, curries, dal, pickles, stir fry vegetables and fruit salad. The dried powder is sprinkled on dishes like chicken, fish, tikka, and stew to add that zest and tanginess.

Mangoes are a rich source of vitamins A, C, and E, as well as minerals such as potassium and magnesium. These nutrients support immune function, promote healthy skin, and help maintain electrolyte balance in the body. According to Ayurveda, mangoes have a cooling effect on the body and aid digestion.
