What is Soy Peptide Powder?
Soy Peptide Powder is an advanced enzymatic hydrolysis product of non-GMO soybean protein with low-molecular-weight bioactive peptides, which provide excellent solubility, fast intestinal absorption, and thermal stability for industrial applications, and is a premium, high-purity functional ingredient. Optimized for use in food, beverage, nutraceutical, and cosmetic manufacturing, this highly digestible raw material offers a digestibility profile that is ideal for integration and blending in dry blends, liquid formulations, functional beverages, high protein bar systems, and sports nutrition systems, while also being virtually free of antigenicity. It is different from conventional soy protein isolates in that, unlike other conventional isolates, the powder has low viscosity in solution, a high level of clarity, and excellent emulsifying, foaming, and water-binding properties over a broad pH range, which enables R&D formulation teams to boost the physiological functions, nutritional value, and textural characteristics of finished consumer products. Manufactured according to strict quality control requirements, such as ISO and GMP protocols, this ingredient is suitable for global business-to-business applications for suppliers of clean-label, hypoallergenic, and allergen-free plant-protein solutions, which require not only high manufacturing throughput but also high-precision dose uniformity, long product shelf-life, and versatile technical processing in high-heat or high-shear processes in factories worldwide.

Main Ingredients
Soy Peptide is composed of low-molecular weight oligopeptides containing mainly two to six amino acid residues (2-6 amino acids) or less (dipeptides, tripeptides, and oligopeptides with molecular masses below 1,000 Daltons, with the majority below 1,000 Daltons), produced by controlled enzymatic digestion of intact soy globulin (glycinin and beta-conglycinin). This highly concentrated bioactive oligopeptide mixture has proven to be more physiologically bioaccessible, to have more rapid transmucosal transport mechanisms, and to have better dispersibility compared to the intact macro-proteins. Along with these short-chain peptides are balanced essential and non-essential amino acids, notably high ratios of glutamic acid, aspartic acid, leucine, arginine and lysine, which help to maintain metabolic nitrogen balance and structural stability in complex product formulations. Furthermore, the high-purity soy peptide raw materials contain naturally occurring soy phytochemicals and mineral complexes in trace amounts, including soy mineral complexes (including potassium, magnesium and phosphorus) and residual amounts of soy isoflavones and saponins, that help support the natural antioxidant properties of the ingredient and its nutritional value. The intentional use of low-molecular-weight oligopeptides ensures that the product has minimal viscosity, a heat-stable formulation, and high solubility in both acidic and alkaline conditions, leaving the manufacturer with a stable and functional plant-based bioactive matrix.
Manufacturing Pathway
1. Raw Material Preparation & Slurry Dispersion:
Non-GMO soy protein isolate (SPI) is combined with deionized water in a series of temperature-controlled stainless steel reactors to create a protein slurry of homogeneous protein, controlling concentration and pH for optimum enzyme activity.
2. Controlled Enzymatic Hydrolysis:
Precise food-grade proteases (e.g., Alcalase, papain, or neutral protease) are added at a specific temperature and pH to digest the peptides and produce desired low molecular weight fractions.
3. Enzyme Inactivation & Heat Treatment:
The reaction mass is then heated for a short period of time to high temperatures (85-95°C) to make sure the enzymes have been completely inactivated, which stops hydrolysis and maintains the target molecular weight distribution.
4. Filtration & Decolorization:
The hydrolysate is then filtered through activated carbon, membrane, or centrifugal filters to provide a clear liquid product without insoluble residues, off-flavors, and pigments.
5. Concentration & Nanofiltration:
The peptide fractions are separated by ultrafiltration and nanofiltration membranes, and then vacuum evaporation is used to concentrate the total solids before drying.
6. Spray Drying & Packaging:
The concentrated solution is atomized in a spray-drying tower to provide a fine, highly soluble Soybean Peptide Powder that is then cooled, sieved, and bulk packaged under sterile bulk packaging conditions.

Benefits
1. Superior Intestinal Bioavailability:
Short-chain oligopeptides have advantages of rapid uptake kinetics and high metabolic efficiency, which are attributed to their uptake by special peptide transporters (PepT1) directly through the mucosal membrane.
2. Exceptional Thermal & pH Stability:
Soy Peptide Powder remains completely soluble and has a low viscosity over a wide pH range (2.0–10.0) and is not subject to gelation, precipitation, or sedimentation during high-heat pasteurization, UHT processing, or retorting operations.
3. Low Antigenicity & Hypoallergenic Profile:
Clean label, hypoallergenicity approach involves targeted enzymatic digestion of major conformational soy allergens, which results in a food product that is more digestible and less likely to cause an allergic reaction.
4. Enhanced Emulsification & Water-Binding Capacity:
Contains amphiphilic molecular structures that enhance the emulsification of fat, moisture, and foam stability in bakery, meat analog, and beverage matrix systems.
5. Neutralized Flavor & Odor Profile:
Advanced membrane purification and filtration technology eliminates typical bitter peptides, bean-like off-flavors, and provides a neutral sensory base, which means there is very little flavor masking needed in the final product.
6. High Processing Compatibility:
High bulk density and good powder flowability, so that it will generate less dust when dry blending and can be smoothly fed when producing capsules, sachets, and large-scale tableting.
FAQ
1. What is the molecular weight distribution of your soy peptide powder?
More than 90% of our soy peptide powder is made up of peptides with a molecular weight less than 1000 Daltons, mainly short-chain dipeptides and tripeptides. This will provide fast uptake by the cells, high bioaccessibility, and low viscosity of the solution.
2. How does soy peptide powder perform under acidic conditions or heat processing?
It has excellent acid and heat resistance. The powder is completely soluble in water without precipitation, turbidity, or gelation in the range of pH 2.0 to 10.0, which is suitable for pasteurization, UHT processing, or acidic beverage formulation.
3. Is your soy peptide powder hypoallergenic and non-GMO?
Yes. We apply controlled enzymatic hydrolysis with 100% non-GMO soybeans to make our product. This processing breaks up large conformational soy proteins and greatly reduces antigenicity and bitter off-flavors.
4. What applications is this ingredient best suited for?
It is widely used in proteins and functional foods, sports nutrition, protein bars, ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages, advanced cosmetic/skin care formulations where high-absorbability plant proteins are required, and clinical nutrition formulas.
5. What certifications, lead times, and Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) do you offer?
All of our products meet ISO, GMP, HACCP, Halal, and Kosher standards. The standard MOQ is 25kg (bulk fiber drum with PE bags for foods). The standard turnaround time is 7-14 business days, depending on the mesh and packaging, which can be customized upon request.
